With
prisons running at 107% of capacity and 4.8 million probation
and parole offenders, States and Municipalities are looking
for ways to reduce the costs of incarceration for non-violent
offenders or those awaiting court appearances. Similarly,
Alarm Monitoring Central Station operators are looking for
additional monitoring revenue streams from new services.
The
AES-IntelliGuard 7479 transceiver monitors low risk offenders
in their homes utilizing an existing AES-IntelliNet network.
With IntelliGuard, the individual enrolled in the home arrest
program is continually monitored via radio transmitter connected
to the wrist, which reports
presence or absence of the person in the home.
The
7479transceiver sends data
from the offender's wristband transmitter through the AES-IntelliNet
wireless network to a central location. If the subject, wearing
the bracelet unit leaves the monitoring range, a message is
sent to the central monitoring station and corrections authorities
respond to the violation.
